CPSM Certification

The SMPS Pacific Regional Chapters have joined forces to host a dynamic Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) Study Program—open to all SMPS members.*

We offer two study group cohorts each year to support those preparing for the March and September CPSM testing windows. Participants connect with peers and facilitators from across the country, learning from some of the industry’s most accomplished marketing professionals.

We invite you to learn more about the September 2026 Cohort. Join us for a virtual Info Session on April 1, 2026, where we’ll review program details, expectations, and timelines—and answer your questions so you can determine if the cohort is the right fit for you.

Following the Info Session, participants who enroll in the September cohort can expect:
  • Six structured virtual sessions, each dedicated to one CPSM domain, with guided review of key terms and concepts from the Markendium
  • Two virtual study cram sessions
  • Opportunities to form study partnerships or small peer groups
  • Access to an online learning portal featuring session recordings, Q&A support, and additional study resources
  • Opportunity to win an exam fee reimbursement
*Participation in the Pacific Regional CPSM Study Program requires active membership in SMPS.
Objective

September 2026 Cohort

*Dates could change based on speaker availability. Most Domain reviews will be recorded and saved on Basecamp.

Individuals are encouraged to participate in the program from start to finish; however, we will permit interested persons to join at any point during the study program.

It is important that participants read the course materials prior to the session on that domain, so they can actively participate in the discussion and ask for clarification where needed.

    Taking the Exam

The examination is administered by the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), an independent third-party and global leader in testing and assessment services. You must first submit an application and upload your college transcripts (if applicable). Your application will be reviewed, and eligible candidates will receive a scheduling authorization from PTC within two weeks. Candidates will have one year from their application approval date to sit for the exam.

You will receive details on scheduling your examination at Prometric Testing Center. Currently, there are regional testing centers in Glendale, Culver City, Camarillo, Anaheim, and San Diego. You are responsible for booking your appointment, which is confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, visit https://www.prometric.com/SMPS
